Oil Sludge Treatment in Scotland

Previously, oily sludge was mainly being tankered off site as existing technology did not produce the desired results, particularly because of the difficulty in treating the inconsistent quality of oily sludge.
Since introducing the energy and cost efficient process, up to 40% oil have been recovered and pumped back to the refinery for processing, up to 75% water has been treated at the effluent treatment plant for safe disposal back into the environment, and typically 10% dry solids have been disposed of to landfill.

Oil Sludge treatment in Indonesia

SAS ES in partnership with US based EcoLogic carried out an extensive oil sludge treatment for an operator in Indonesia. Out of 27,500 bbl of sludge 33.5% was recovered oil, 43.6% was water that was treated and discharged and 21.1% was solids that didn’t require stabilising .
The operator recovered almost $500k.
